The members of the club ever since its inception have participated in both major races that are ran in South Africa, namely Two Oceans which is 56km and is being held in Cape Town and Comrades Marathon which 89km and is being held in Durban and Pietermaritzburg.

  • In 2009, 27 athletes participated in Two Oceans and 13 ran Comrades. Simayile Moyisile attained a Silver Medal in Comrades, finishing 07:16. All the athletes finished the races within the cut-off times.
  • In 2010, 21 athletes participated in Two Oceans and 12 ran Comrades. Simayile Moyisile still brought a Silver Medal to the club.
  • In 2011, 18 athletes participated in Two Oceans and 14 ran Comrades Marathon. Celane Velembo brought a Silver Medal to the club.
  • In 2012, 21 athletes participated in Two Oceans and 14 ran Comrades Marathon. Zuko Matsheke brought Silver to the club, finishing at 07H23min.
  • In 2013 we had 22 athletes who participated in the Two Oceans Marathon and 34 athletes participated in the Comrades Marathon 2013 with Noluhlazana Bonginkosi getting a Silver Medal
  • In 2014 we had 15 Two Oceans Marathon finishers with Bonginkosi Noluhlazana getting a Silver Medal and 34 athletes participated in the Comrades Marathon 2014 with Bonginkosi Noluhlazana and Lizo Thomas getting Silver Medals
  • The club keeps records of the above races and are available should they be requested.
  • Apart from participating in Two Oceans and Comrades Marathon, our athletes participate in the races that take place in the Border Region, Eastern Cape Region, Gauteng Region, Kwa-Zulu Natal and Western Cape.
  • There was a Mandela Marathon on 25 August 2013 running from (Pietermaritzburg to Horwick) in honour of the father of nation DR tata Nelson Mandela. About seven (7) of our members participated. Lungile Gongqa came position eight (8) and received a GOLD MEDAL.
  • During the 2013 Masters Marathon at East London about 15 members participated. Lizo Thomas finished in 2:57 and received a GOLD MEDAL.
  • During the SOUL DESTROYER (21.1km) which was at East London on 15 September 2013 two of our runners topped the race. Lungile Gongqa finished in1:09 and Andile Maqeke finished in 1:13min.
  • Lastly the course record for the Bongolo Twizza Marathon is held by a member of our club Zilindile Ndziweni at 2.15 and on top of this achievement he have 7 Silver medals in the Two Oceans Marathon. A Grand Master Mathews Novokoza also prides himself with with 20 Comrades finishes and 20 Two Oceans Marathon finishes
  • On track and field we pride ourselves with Grand Master Rogers Mbantsa whose track record of 1981 in 10 000 metres at 62.43 was an awesome achievement.
  • Worth mentioning is the dominance of our youth members who dominated a couple of winner’s podiums in a number of races across the region. Mr Andile Maqele (27 years) won the Twizza Bongolo Half – Marathon 2014 in the male category; he also won the White Clay Half – Marathon 2014 which is hosted in Coffee Bay on an annual base; Lastly he won the Cheetahs Challenge 10km race 2014. He also represented the club in the Provincial Cross Country Championship 2014.
  • Another aspiring athlete of 2014 was Mr Vuyolwethu Madikiza (22 Years), who won Elliot Madeira Pharmacy 10km race in the male category,  also he came 3rd in the Mthatha Heritage Jazz Festival Marathon which debuted with the honour of Zithulele Sinqe.
  • As a club we don’t only focus in young people, we also encourage old people to actively participate in running races. Mr Ben Kutta completed his GREEN NUMBER (10 Comrades Marathon finishes) in 2014 being a grand master (60-69years) and also he completed a BLUE NUMBER (10 Two Oceans Marathon Finishes).
